After spending the last year or so procrastinating university work by fiddling around on Ableton, RITA BASS (Margarita Bassova) is finally ready to release her debut offering into the music world.

The gritty and chaotic release will be released on cassette via Naarm (Melbourne) based label 56k records, as well as digitally independently.

Apophenia/Shaped Curve is largely a manifestation of the anger, frustration, depression and confusion of the last year of intense isolation, and RITA BASS does not shy away from exploring these sentiments through varying sonic soundscapes and unlikely partnerships.

Notably, RITA BASS considers this 2-track EP to meet the unlikely intersections of cyber-pop, post-punk and emotional drum and bass, largely inspired by tech-pop goddess Grimes and the countless fem kweens in her home city of Naarm.
